We have had the most glorious weather here in Minnesota! I know that many of you have also been blessed with a mild January. I feel like with Matthew’s afternoon nap and our busy schedule that we have not been able to fully enjoy the weather. However, knowing that the blessing could be over at any moment, this week Matthew and I were determined to make the most out of it while it lasts!
Yesterday we ventured to the Wood Lake Nature Center for the first time. I was hoping to get a walk in while we were there; unfortunately, the walkways were still pretty icy. Instead we played in the interpretive center. There we saw salamanders, snakes and turtles, which were Matthew’s favorite. There were also leaning toys, animals and puppets along with several native mounted animals.
This morning after bible study, Matthew and I had a lunch date at Common Roots Cafe, one of my favorite local establishments. Common Roots offers a large variety of organic and local sandwiches, soups and baked goods. Today we were there for their homemade bagels.
I ordered an everything bagel with chive cream cheese, capers and veggies. It was so delicious that I almost forget to take a photo!
Matthew snacked on a clementine that I brought from home and a whole wheat bagel. We also picked up a half dozen bagels for home.
Now I am off to do some latin dancing before Matthew wakes up from his nap!
“You are the love song we’ll sing forever.” – from a song we sang at bible study this morning.
