I recently read on Passionate Homemaking about the inexpensive prices on organic bulk and natural food items that are offered by Azure Standard. I immediately signed up as a New Customer and began adding items to my Favorites. After checking the prices against my local co-op, Target and Trader Joe’s I found that Azure is less expensive, even with our monthly co-op discount and our Target Employee discount.
Today I decided to call customer service to find out if there were any drop sites in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. I found out that there are several closed drop sites in the area; however, there are not any local open sites that I could join. 🙁 The customer service rep informed me that I would either have to find someone at one of the closed drop sites that would allow me to join or start my own drop site.
The minimum order per drop site is $550 per order, $50 per each individual order, which adds up pretty quickly when you are ordering 2-5lb bags of rolled oats; however, there is no way that I would be able to store $550 worth of dry goods in my South Minneapolis home that is conveniently lacking in the pantry and larder departments.
Would anyone like to join me in a new drop site? Or do you know someone who is part of a closed drop site that may be nice enough to allow me to order a couple times a year?
