You all know how much I love my beloved Vita Mix. Not a day goes by that I don’t use it at least once.
For Christmas Allan got a killer deal on a Cuisinart Elite 12-cup Food Processor. I have used it a few times to make dough balls, nut butter and coconut butter. Let me say, that I am in love! I was able to make a double batch of coconut butter in less than 8 minutes without stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl once! This one is a keeper.
For my birthday this year, I received a Bamix Immersion Blender from Allan. This has made quick work out of homemade spaghetti sauce, whipped cream, whipping egg whites and blended soups. No more ladling hot soups and sauced from my hot sauce pan into the Vita Mix and then back again. I did a lot of research before this purchase, because I have had too many inexpensive appliances break on me after short periods of time.
I love (and own) every single book written by Tosca Reno. She is my original inspiration for loosing weight and changing my life. I owe her everything.
As clean eaters, we try to eat as seasonally as possible, for that reason I love paging through Simply in Season to gain recipe inspiration and remind myself which produce is at its peak. Although, I do reduce the oil and sweeteners used in the the recipes to suit my lifestyle.
Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day is my new favorite cookbook. Allan’s gluten allergy + love of bread was wreaking havoc on our pocket book and Allan’s tastebuds. He longed for a delicious gluten-free loaf and I was looking for a simple way to bake gluten-free bread at home. The solution: Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day. I have tried several of the gluten-free recipes including the Gluten-Free Boule and the Super Sam Cinnamon rolls. I also occasionally make a loaf of whole grain bread for Matthew and I using sprouted wheat flour. Everything we have tried so far has been superb!
I just started using yogurt starter and kefir grains from Cultures for Health and really like them a lot. I have more consistent results in less effort than using other methods for culturing. Cultures for Health also offers Kombucha scobys, if you would like to purchase one vs. growing one like I did.
A year ago I did the Supreme 90 Day workout program and loved it. I noticed considerable gains in not only muscle definition, but also in cardiovascular endurance.
I have completed the The Female Body Breakthrough program by Rachel Cosgrove twice and really enjoyed it. The Female Body Breakthrough was the perfect program to follow-up The New Rules of Lifting for Women. Rachel has since released the book, Drop Two Sizes, which I completed three times with fabulous results.
These are a few of the other fitness DVDs that I own and enjoy:
