Can you believe that Thanksgiving is only two weeks away! I am so excited! Allan compares my Thanksgiving meal to the Super Bowl. We look forward to it each year. This year is no exception because Allan’s sister and her family will be joining us from South Dakota. It is going to so much fun hosting a full house with both immediate family’s present.
Last Saturday I sat down with my favorite magazines, cookbooks and iPad to come up with a list of recipes to try. I then got busy in the kitchen testing recipes for the big day. My menu is almost set and I am very excited to share all of the recipes with you.
Look for recipes for the following items to pop up on the blog over the next week. The dishes in bold are finalized recipes while the others are still being tested.
Spicy and Smoky Turkey Spice Rub
Roast Turkey with Herby Gravy
Cherry, Apple and Mushroom Stuffing
Spiced Cranberry Apple Sauce
Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Pecans
Garlicky Beets and Green Beans
Souffléd Sweet Potato Bake
Foolishly Fabulous Mashed Potatoes
Pumpkin Brownie Pie
I am also including photos of each recipe; however, by the time the meal was finished on Sunday it was dark outside and dinner was running late. Unfortunately, I did not have time to set up a photo shoot and I still haven’t bought a daylight lightbulb… I ask that you please excuse the quality of the photos that accompany the recipes. I will take much better pictures on the big day to share with you!
I promise that each and every one of these dishes was a hit! Matthew could not get enough of everything – he literally cleaned his plate.
What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish? I love dessert! The pumpkin brownie pie was a.ma.zing. It will not disappoint.
