Today was another beautiful day. It is rare for it to get very hot at the cabin, but this week has been an exception… Thursday was 90+ and yesterday was in the high 80s. Today it cooled down a bit and was in the mid 80s.
Since the sun was shining Allan, my father-in-law, Mark, and I decided to spend the morning fishing one of the small lakes near the cabin. The lake was absolutely gorgeous! There was a slight breeze, the sky was clear and the water was near glassy.
Allan went in the solo canoe while Mark and I ventured out together. Mark is a wonderful fishing companion and is always full of helpful tidbits, from casting advice to fishing fodder. I even caught a few sunnies and bass! No fish were harmed in making this blog post, as we practice catch and release fishing.
After Matthew’s nap we took a walk to the nearby Lake Ada where one of our friends owns a cabin. It was so nice to see Bob, Melanie and their four beautiful daughters. thanks for letting us crash your pre-dinner festivities.
We are now sitting outside the local convenience station, smack dap in the middle of nowhere, so that I can publish this post and check email.
Have a good night!
Maria
